Victoria Area Wineries
Southern Vancouver Island, with it's temperate climate and plentiful
sunshine, has proven to be an amenable location for wine production.
The flegling cottage wine industry on Vancouver Island has already
begun to produce some award winning wines. A tour of the areas
wineries makes for a pleasant way to explore some of the area's
most beautiful country.

Opened May 2003 , as Victoria Estates located in the Saanich
Peninsula on Vancouver Island. Described by noted author John
Schreiner as One of the five best-designed wineries in British
Columbia.. The winery has 21,000 square feet of space including
a tapas Bistro managed by chef John Crossley Hall. The winery
also has a Viticulture Centre.
The 26 acre winery located on the scenic peninsula is the dream
of renowned winemaker and consultant Eric von Krosigk.
Initial wine offerings from Victoria Estate Winery currently
include: Chardonnay, Madeline Sylvaner, Pinot Gris, Riesling and
Merlot.
Featured at the winery is Madeleine's Bistro & Deli, named
for the estate's signature white wine, Madeleine Sylvaner. The
bistro features fresh selections from local ingredients.
Victoria Estate Winery opened its doors to the public on May
16th, 2003 and in less than a year has already welcomed more than
52,000 visitors, been awarded 24 medals from international wine
competitions, and recently ranked 12th in the Top 20 Largest Wineries
in British Columbia.
In 2005 the winery's name was changed to Church and State.
